Studies have shown that patients who are part of the healthcare team are more involved in their care and enjoy better outcomes. Patients and caregivers can forget what their doctor prescribed or said if they are tired, sick, or stressed out during a doctor’s visit. WellStar My Chart makes it easy for patients to access important information at their convenience.

Jon Morris, M.D. chief information officer at WellStar Health System, stated that ‘Open Notes’ has been implemented in the WellStar My Chart patient portal. This allows patients to understand their health information more easily and create flow charts creates a collaborative environment. This improves care by strengthening the relationships between providers and patients and caregivers. It is crucial that we include patients in our care teams. We know this will help patients better manage their care, understand their medical issues and communicate with their providers more effectively.
