Healthy teeth indicate the health of your body and soul. They also provide significant social value. At any age missing teeth can hinder eating and can make life difficult.

Evidence is evident in the growing demand for tooth implants. According to the American Academy of Implant Dentistry (AAID) more than 30 million Americans have missing teeth in either of their jaws. In 2010, 3 million Americans received implants and this number is projected to grow by 500,000 yearly.

Tooth Implants are a trend that has been around for a long time. Regular implants usually take longer to install. It could take from 6 months to one year, depending on the number of implants are required and the patient’s condition.

Technology is still moving on as always. In recent years, advancements such as 3D radiographic imaging scans soft tissue grafting and superior materials for construction have made possible for innovative solutions for missing teeth to keep coming with innovative treatments such as:

  • All-on-4 Implants: This is a practice that has been in existence for a while, therefore it’s not really new, however, very few have heard of it. Four implants with dentures attached is anchored into the jawbone. Within a matter of days, you can have a full mouth comprised of all-on-4 implants. They’re sure to be a perfect fit due to the material surrounding them is flexible and soft and easily adapts to any mouth. Food that is solid can be eaten following the meal.
  • Mini Tooth Implants: The mini-Tooth implants are approximately the same in size as a toothpick and are able to be used in places that regular implants can’t. Since they don’t need screws or a bone that is strong enough to graft, they’re ideal for older adults. They can be installed in one hour but soft foods will need to be eaten for a few days after the procedure.
  • Immediate Load Tooth Implants: This is the most efficient method since almost everything can be done in one visit. It is possible to eat at an eatery in the same night. Because the new teeth are being used before the bone grows around it, there might be more problems than usual. This is a good option if you have limited time. Many patients have received immediate dental implants without any complications.
  • Regular Tooth Implants: This is the oldest method and the slowest. It is vital to have a strong jawbone, which is large and sturdy. Only a handful of full-size screws can be fitted to the jawbone at the same time. Implanting more than one or two Implants for teeth may require multiple appointments. There will be a 3 to 6 month period of waiting for the bone to expand around the screw and another 3 to 6 months until permanent crowns replace temporary ones. The amount of time depends on the mouth of the patient teeth, jaws and bone. While some procedures may work for all people, others will be more effective. A dentist’s advice and oral surgeon in this regard is essential. This procedure can be costly. A single Tooth Implant could cost as much as $2,000. A full mouth could cost between $30,000 and $50,000.
